administrators who participate in Newspapers in Education may apply or
be nominated for the Golden Apple Award.

Each month a selected NIE teacher will be honored with the
Golden Apple Award for their innovative teaching methods, use of the
newspaper in class and dedication to their students. Winners will be
chosen according to their overall participation in the NIE program.
Each Golden Apple Award winner will receive an extra special NIE gift,
be honored on our NIE website and be published on the NIE ExtraExtra
page in the Bangor Daily News.
