'We Use NIE' Race

By Pat Lemieux
Created 08/07/2007 - 22:42

NIE is encouraging schools to compete against each other in the ‘We Use NIE’ Race. Starting September 2007, NIE will keep track of all classrooms actively enrolled in NIE at each school.

Schools will accumulate points based on their participation level in the NIE program. Schools will…

…receive 2 points each time one of your school’s teachers wins the
NIE Golden Apple Award.
…receive 1 point for each classroom receiving regular NIE newspaper
delivery.
…receive 1 point for each special program that a classroom participates in.

The number of papers requested by each classroom does not matter – so please do not order more papers then you will actually use. Participation and use of NIE and special programs is what counts. It is our goal to increase the participation in our NIE program by 10% next year! That means we want an additional 40 classrooms to enroll and will be obtaining sponsorship for an additional 40,000 NIE papers to be delivered to Maine schools!!!!! WOO HOO!

In May 2008, NIE will count up each schools points and the school with the most points will be the named the 2007-2008 NIE School of the Year! An extra special trophy will be awarded and the NIE School of the Year will be published in the newspaper for all to see! A running tally of each schools points will be regularly updated right here on the NIE website.

So get excited. Get your co-workers signed up with NIE.
Get competitive…and let’s crown a winner!
